Languages of the Land
- Kaison – pronounced as "kay-son". The spoken tongue of the Aile. It has no written form.
- Oceen – pronounced as "ocean". The tongue of those who dwell in Landolai, at least in the north.
- Hradi – pronounced as “hah-raw-di”. The language of the desert.
- Vrentoc – pronounced as “wren-tock”. The tongue of those who dwell in the Lowlands.
- Jongua – pronounced as “john-oo-ah”. The language of the Mour.
- Liermonne – pronounced as "leer-mahn". The tongue of the Adrilanese, who dwell in their great city across the Shadowed Bay. Often used by traders and adventurers.
- Trade Speak – the common tongue of the land. While sufficient for trade and simple speech it is of little use in conveying difficult or complicated topics.
- Jaidra – pronounced as “jai-drah”. The tongue of the Jarls. While used to curse by and by, its speech is often against the law in many lands and can land a man in jail or worse.
- Bryndier – pronounced as "brihn-dear". The tongue of Sochayn (sow-chain), who once dominated the north and were one of the base races that would become the Nirondi. Those of the Sochayn that fled the area founded Adrilan across the Shadowed Bay. The tongue is little used in Landolai except by scholars, travelers to Adrilan, and those with an interest in the past. Even those in Adrilan no longer speak Bryndier, using instead Liermonne, the tongue of the last five emperors.
- Kididari – pronounced as “kih-dih-dah-ree”. The tongue of the Dwearoc. Its archaic form is known as Khaad (cod).
- Absdek – pronounced as “abs-deck”. The tongue of the Fierkron.
- Dzinol – pronounced as “zin-ohl”. The tongue of the dzinolli.
- Vaen – pronounced as “vay-in”. The speech of the Vaen.
- Zik – pronounced as “zihk”. The speech of the Zik.
- Wyndlsohn – pronounced as “win-dill-sawn”. The tongue of the Eolil.
- Girrondr – pronounced as “ger-ron-der”. The tongue of the Orok tribes.
- Ebnutoil – pronounced as “ebb-new-toil”. The tongue of the Ekto.
- Roadydin – pronounced as “road-ih-din”. The tongue of those who dwell in the old Empire lands.
